Attaching the referral letter
Please remember to attach the referral letter when making a referral via e-RS. Acute trusts do not have access to the referral unless the referral letter is attached. Information on how to attach a referral letter is in our e-RS referrer quick reference guide.
Making use of advice and guidance (A&G)
If you are unsure which clinic to book a patient into on e-RS, please make use of the A&G function on e-RS. The Trusts will be able to advise on which clinic to book the patient into. Information on how to use A&G on e-RS is in our e-RS advice and guidance quick reference guide.

Booking an appointment There have been a number of occasions where patients have not attended their appointment in secondary care this is due to the GPs/referrers booking the appointment without telling the patient. Please do not book an appointment for a patient without their agreement. If you book the appointment for the patient, please print the booking summary and give it to them so they are aware of their appointment.
