NHS England has commissioned the North of England Commissioning Support Unit (CSU) to collect third next available appointment (TNA) data from each general practice in England.
TNA is the number of days a patient theoretically would need to have waited for the third available appointment at the time a booking was made.
This will give NHS England a view of waiting times for GP appointments and will play an important part in understanding the pressure on healthcare systems as we move into winter. Every practice will receive a call from the CSU during September and October 2017 to request the data. For more information please contact england.gpaccess@nhs.net.
