Our trusts are seeing a very large number of patients in the emergency department at Queen’s and King George hospitals. This is putting significant pressure on services across the trust.
Please continue to do all you can to help care for patients locally and do not refer patients into Queen’s and KGH hospital Emergency Departments (A&E or the Urgent Care Centre) for the next 48 hours unless it is absolutely essential.
Both A&Es at Queen’s and King George Hospitals remain open. However, we need to alleviate pressure on our services to ensure continued high quality care for all.
Patients who call for an urgent appointment and cannot be seen or spoken to by a GP should be reminded to call NHS 111 or visit a pharmacist for advice, or to book an urgent same day GP appointment which are available at our GP hubs every day (6.30pm-10pm on weekdays, and 8am-8pm on weekends).
