Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and its research and education partner, the University College London (UCL) Institute of Ophthalmology have been exploring moving services from their existing premises in City Road to the St Pancras hospital site in Camden.
A final report summarising the findings from their consultation on this proposed move was published on Monday 13 January 2020 alongside an Integrated Impact Assessment and report ‘Consultation with people with protected characteristics and rare conditions’.
The independent analysis of the survey results shows that 73% of respondents agree that a new centre is needed and 73% agree with St Pancras as the preferred location.
The documents are available on the Consultation documents page.
The consultation, which ran between 24 May and 16 September 2019, gave patients, staff and the general public the opportunity to comment on the proposal to create a new centre for eye care, research and education in the St Pancras area.
They received around 4,600 contributions during the consultation through discussion groups, emails, phone calls and the consultation survey.
A draft version of the consultation findings report was published at the end of October 2019 which gave people the opportunity to review the feedback and feed in any comments that they think may have been missed. This feedback has been incorporated into the final version of the report.
