From 16 July 2018 all GP referrals to BHRUT Consultant-led outpatient services can only be made via NHS e-Referral System (ERS).
The Trust will no longer accept referrals in any other way than through ERS from this date – paper referrals will be switched off.
Two week wait referrals should also be sent through ERS.
With less than a month to go please make sure you have everything in place to be ready to use ERS from 16 July.
You will have already have received detailed information about the paper switch off, how to use ERS, and referral guidance from BHRUT.
All this information is also available on your respective GP intranets.
We are also contacting/visiting practices directly to support them to prepare for the paper referral switch off. We have delivered training across the borough, if you were not able to attend the training, please see this online webinar instead.
Barts Health are moving to ERS as well. Paper referrals will no longer be accepted for Whipps Cross University Hospital from 3 September 2018.
For more information please see the ERS page on the GP intranet.
