The new NHS England General Practice Workload Tool dashboard is now completed, giving practices access to their appointment data for the first time. The dashboard is a new function within general practice clinical systems (EMIS, TPP, Vision and Microtest), which presents similar data to the national general practice appointment data, now published monthly by NHS Digital. The dashboard is intended to support practices in capacity and demand planning either in their own practice or across wider networks.

Practices can also use the standard reporting capabilities within their systems to target and explore more detailed assessments of the information. The data captured includes:
The dashboard was included in the last software update to practice clinical systems and some practices who are already using it have found it to be extremely useful, supporting productivity and efficiency in General Practice. Training guides have been included in the training materials to show practices how the dashboard can be accessed.
Please note Vision and Microtest practices must first agree to download the dashboard and how to do this is covered in the guidance.
Further information, training materials and a link to the dashboard are available here.
