Two new ultrasound rooms are being created and four existing rooms are being updated as part of an upgrade of the radiology department at King George Hospital, which will allow an additional 150 more scans to be carried out each week. KGH’s general ultrasound lead, Rakhee Jagatia, said the new equipment would enable patients to be scanned more quickly and help reduce wait times. A second CT scanner, which is 35% faster, is also due to go live in January.
