The CCG has created a Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge (BHR) GP Practice Dashboard which consists of activity data on elective and non-elective care.
The Dashboard has been developed to inform practices of their attendance and admission rates as well as cost of attendances. It is anticipated that the tool will support GP networks in identifying opportunities for working collaboratively. For example helping to set up community based clinics or out of hospital services.
It provides a summary of planned and unplanned care activity at practice, network and CCG levels, and activity is calculated as a rate of per 1000 weighted list size. This is to enable comparisons to be made at an equal level.
The tool presents data on attendances for various specialties, A&E, urgent care and walk-in-centres. It provides year on year comparison of activity, highlights variance in numbers as well as in costs where available.
The information compromises of predominantly acute data from the NHS Digital Secondary Uses Service (SUS). This covers acute settings such as inpatients, outpatients and A&E. Limited walk-in-centre and urgent care centre data for certain providers are also included. At present only community data for the Medefer service is included, however data for other providers is being worked up to be incorporated in future iterations.
The Dashboard will be updated and published on a monthly basis however please note that the latest data showing will be two months in arrears due to a seven week time lag in receiving SUS data.
View and download the Dashboard. If you have any queries please contact your local Primary Care Improvement Lead in the first instance.
