Diabetes LIS results - 14 January 2019
17 January 2019
Thank you for your work on the Diabetes LIS. The CEG (Clinical Effectiveness Group) have complied a set of results for 14 January 2019.
The summary headlines are:
- Strong performance on treatment targets for HbA1c and cholesterol.
- Blood pressure performance is weaker – but this is known to take longer to achieve.
- Low average scores on eight care processes (8CP); in the 10 weeks to the end of March this is the area to act on now.
Top tips for improvement of 8CP include:
- Identify those with 6 or 7 care processes complete – concentrate on these first. It can be simple things like smoking status, BMI etc. Tidy up the simple gaps.
- With urine ACR, set up a good process in the practice – ideally allowing patients to give their sample when there.
- Work with CEG/PCIL if needed to check on performance and actions on 8CPs – use your searches and systems well.
More will be communicated by email in the remaining weeks of this financial year.
