Thank you to the GPs and GP Federation staff who joined us for a workshop on March 7 to discuss key themes being explored in the community urgent care review.
Clinicians from across BHR looked at the benefits and disadvantages of delivering more bookable urgent appointments in future and managing this alongside walk in appointments. The group also discussed the need for consistent clinical assessment across all services. We’re still assessing the feedback but will share this as soon as we can.
We also shared the analysis of a recent survey of practices, which will help to better understand the primary care role in the wider current urgent care patient pathway. This included questions about your triage and prioritisation processes for patients wanting urgent same-day appointments, and how you promote and signpost alternative services.
For more information about the review, please contact Carla Morgan, Project Manager at BHR CCGs by email Carla.morgan3@nhs.net.
