This is a reminder that our new community dermatology service provided by DMC Healthcare continues to have capacity. The service offer effective, high quality, accessible care closer to home, with the aim of improving improve access through a single point of referral.
The service, provided by DMC healthcare, is more convenient for your patients as it also offers evening and weekend appointments in a number of local clinics. It also has shorter waiting times. Patients referred to this service are seen between 2- 4 weeks in contrast to patients referred to the hospital where they could be waiting a very long time for an appointment.
The community dermatology service is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team led by Consultant Dermatologists, and supported by Associate Specialists, GPwSIs, Dermatology Specialist Nurses, HCAs, managers and a referral management team.
Where possible, the service provides a ‘see and treat’ service so your patients can be treated on the day of appointment. It also has a strong emphasis on empowering and educating patients in effectively self-managing their dermatological conditions.
The service can treat a large number of conditions, in the community, with just the following exclusions:

The service is also able to ensure any onward referral to secondary care where required.
